Mary Lou Dersch, 85, of Lambertville, MI, died Monday, February 22, 2016 at Vibrant Life Senior Living in Temperance, MI. Born September 17, 1930, in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Thomas and Julia (Begeman) McGannon. A 1948 graduate of the former DeVilbiss High School, she married Joseph M. Dersch on June 13, 1953. He preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 2003. Mary Lou was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church and the Model A Restore’s Club, both in Toledo and was instrumental in starting the library at Douglas Road Elementary. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading and crosswords puzzles.
Mary Lou is survived by her loving children, Jeanine (Donald) Moyer and Daryl Dersch; sister, Betty (Bob) Nilsson; brothers, Tom (Kathy) McGannon, Richard (Connie) McGannon and Jim (Donna) McGannon; brother-in-law, Dick Dersch; grandchildren, Michael, Kyle, Brandon Dersch, Heidi Moyer, and Sara (Justin) Harper; great grandchildren, Nathaniel Joseph Dersch and Joseph Herbert Harper. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and step-mother, Verneda McGannon.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm Thursday, February 25, 2016, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 26, 2016, at St. Clement Catholic Church. 3030 Tremainsville Rd., Toledo, OH 43613, where she will lie in state after 9:00 am.
